It's ironic that this looks very much like a cut and paste set response ...

The curation guidelines use a lot of words to say "good stuff" will get curated. Meanwhile, most editors are only looking to put "good stuff" in their publications. Only they have quite a clear idea what constitutes "good" in terms of their particular publication. This is how journals work both on Medium and in the real world.

Unfortunately, unlike publications, Curation provide zero useful editorial info. But looking at a lot of what gets boosted it seems like they're just too embarrassed to own up to still looking for click bait.

And "updated regularly" just means we have to reread them regularly to check whether anything helpful has been added. This is on top of the rest of the hours of unpaid time many of us put into our publication. Meanwhile, without curation, most publications and pieces will fail to garner much attention however good they are.

I appreciate the possibilities of the boost program, and also all the (paid) work you do @Ariel, but the program lacks insight, ambition, and is failing a huge number of great writers and editors on the platform. Medium can either plug their ears and carry on regardless (deja vu) or perhaps engage constructively with suggestions, complaints, and constructive criticism.
