Sometimes I think the dog is trying to tell me something of this nature, but (so far) it turns out…

Does he know something I don’t
I wonder, some inside track available
to angels but not their offspring
and what is “soon” to Death anyway?
Have to confess, though, I think
of him a little more now than then
and perhaps it’s around-the-cornerish
our reunion, if soon means to him
what it means to me, waiting now
to see him waiting still
